Peppers The Sands Resort Torquay, Torquay

I booked the golf 'n' stay package for my husband's birthday, and while he loved the golf course, I found the resort lacking for those who don't play. There were no sun loungers to relax, and the pool was only for exercising. The breakfast was excellent, but dinner was overpriced for the quality. The room could have been cleaner, which was disappointing.

My stay at this hotel was a mix of highs and lows. The spacious room I had was comfortable with a giant bed and a fantastic shower, but the view wasn’t great since it overlooked the car park. The amenities offered were solid with a large indoor pool and a gym, which I enjoyed. However, the pricing felt a bit steep for what I received, especially given the view. Overall, it was a decent experience with some positive aspects, but there’s room for improvement.

I had a fantastic stay at The Sands! The spacious rooms were super comfortable, and the location was perfect, just a short walk to the beach. We enjoyed delicious meals at the onsite restaurant, especially the amazing wood-fired pizza. However, there were some minor downsides, like a lingering odor in one of the rooms and some cleanliness issues with outdoor spaces. Overall, I can't wait to come back!

While the location is peaceful and away from the bustling town, it meant I had to drive for meals outside of the hotel. Overall, this place is a great choice for a quiet getaway, but just keep in mind you'll need transportation for dining in town.
